Institut Leimena

Leimena Institute (“Institut Leimena”) is a non-profit organization for the studies of public policies and emerging public concerns, in promoting the good for our nation. Along with that, we also facilitate relevant strategic programs in the society.
We want to build the Unitary State Republic of Indonesia based on our nation’s founding values of Pancasila (“Five Principles”), Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (“Unity in Diversity”), and the 1945 Constitution, in pursuit of our purpose of national independence. We do this through our contribution of ideas, research studies, and other programs, together with all the Indonesian people. Our stakeholders are primarily the public policy makers and executives, media, academics, religious leaders, and other policy influencing communities.
In accordance with the Pancasila and 1945 Constitution, we believe that religious values are integral to the moral, ethical, and spiritual foundation of the Indonesian nation and state. In the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (“Unity in Diversity”), all religious people must work together to build that moral, ethical, and spiritual foundation. This is to be done with a commitment to respect and protect the diversity and equality within the society. Unity, equality, and cooperation with mutual respect in this plural society is a precondition to pursue the purpose of our national independence. Therefore, we also believe that Christian values can enrich our nation building proces, not for any particular group, but for the general welfare.
